Melissa Hooven
Melissa Hooven kicked off her headhunting career 6 years ago, when she became the Top Recruiter in the Los Angeles Mid-Wilshire District while working for Spherion Pacific. Making a career transition to the digital media space, Melissa took on the role as internal recruiter for RealtyTracker, later acquired by GunthyRenker. Her love of technology made her the perfect candidate to head up all recruiting efforts for News Corp’s MySpace incubator, Slingshot Labs, where she grew the company from 10 to 65 employees and created four top-notch development teams.
Melissa started her own company, Active Recruitment, putting her passion for team-building and talent-matching to work for multiple digital media start-up companies. She now runs the Technology Practice at Jim Jonassen & Associates. She has worked with companies such as Internships.com, MindJolt, Ad.ly, Hautelook, RockProdigy, and TWBA\Media Arts Lab.
Melissa is a Los Angeles Native, active tennis player, and equestrian.
